Zoran Kus has been working in the field of the environment and climate change for more than 30 years. Currently he is Slovenia’s main negotiator for climate change within the Ministry of the Environment and Spatial Planning. Between 2010 and 2014 he was working at the Slovenian Permanent Representation of Slovenia to the European Union in Brussels as the environment and climate change attaché. In 2008 he was appointed by the Government of Slovenia as the State secretary for the environment and spatial planning. During the Slovenian presidency of the EU Council, in the first half of 2008, he was chairing the Environment Working Party of the EU Council. Between 1999 and 2008 he was a diplomat at the Slovenian diplomatic representation to the EU in Brussels. Zoran Kus holds a Master’s Degree in Geography from the University of Zagreb, Croatia (1989). He has graduated in Geography and Sociology from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia (1979).
