Bojan Luskovec, M.Sc. is an Electrical Engineer, Bachelor of Economics and Master of Science in Management. He started his career in 1975 in Elektro Gorenjska, where he has worked in various technical fields, measurements, operation and maintenance of electric power system and thus obtained numerous practical skills and experiences. So far he has collaborated in several reorganization and optimization projects in the distribution company. In 2009 he became a consultant of the management on technical matters and strategy and he outlined the development path in the field of smart meters and adaptation of the company’s operations to the conditions of electricity market deregulation. In September 2014 the supervisory board of Elektro Gorenjska appointed him the chairman of the board for the next four years. He is an active member of the working groups dealing mainly with current topics of the electricity distribution system at the strategic level.

In mid-July 2015 he started his two-year mandate conducting the Economic Interest Grouping of Electricity Distribution.

Ivan Šmon

Ivan Smon EPC4Ivan Šmon won a PhD degree at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Electrical Engineering and MSc degree at the University of Ljubljana, Faculty of Economics in 2006 and 2016, respectively. In 2015 he also finished the Master’s degree of Business Administration program at the Faculty of Economics, University of Ljubljana.

After receiving a PhD, from 2006–2010, Ivan Šmon was employed at the Slovenian Ministry of the Economy as the Undersecretary, where he was creating legal framework for Slovenian energy supply system and he also represented interests of Slovenia internationally. In 2010 he joined SODO – Slovenian electricity DSO, where he stayed for three years. He was responsible for operation of the company’s technical department. Since May 2013, Ivan Šmon has been with Elektro Gorenjska – the distributor of electricity where he has been assisting the CEO with managing the company.

 

Ivan Šmon is the president of the Slovenian Eurelectric section and member of the Eurelectric Board of Directors. He is also representative of Slovenia in CIGRE Study Committee C6 (Distribution systems and distributed generation).

 

Peter Gašperšič

Peter Gaspersic-webPeter Gašperšič began his career as a young researcher at the Faculty of Civil and Geodetic Engineering in Ljubljana. Afterwards he studied in the USA, where he examined the practical aspects of earthquake resistance of structures. Leaving academia, he worked in the business sector, where he headed several construction investment projects and civil engineering projects. He continued his career in public administration, where he held leading positions from heading a sector and directorate to being the state secretary. He is an expert who brings an ideal mix of academic competence and practical experience in the working areas of the ministry.

EMPLOYMENT

Krško Nuclear Power Plant, 1982 – 2005

Started with training for operation licence and successfully obtain Senior Operating Licence in 1983. Serving Air forces for the year 1984. Working as Reactor Operator in main control room and shift engineer from 1985 to 1987. 1987 take responsibility of Shift Supervisor being responsible for Plant Operation.

1988 promoted to Operations Manager with responsibility for Plant Operations Department including plant safe operation, outage management, operations personal selection and promotion.

1991 leading project group for establishing Engineering organisation to support long term plant operational, maintenance and investment needs.

From 1992 to 2005 served as Engineering Services Division Director and Shift Engineer position.

As Engineering Services Division Director was responsible for developing long-range goals, objectives, programs, planning, implementing and monitoring of projects and systems, budgeting, staff supervision, training; modification process, maintaining Krško NPP documents; preparing and submitting technical data for licensing process and coordination of all supporting organizations for licensing.

Directs preparation, conduct and coordination of safety and probabilistic analyses, support of procurement process, and design base documentation.

Duties include conduct of design modifications; project organizations; coordination and efficient implementation of all activities related to fuel management and reactor engineering; Emergency Plan development, maintenance and documentation; effective operational and industry experience feedback.

Related activities include in-house contract and proposal evaluation; organization of, and participation in, technical conferences, interfacing with other international organizations and the local authority.

Directs the efforts of Krško Modernization Project, i.e. steam generators’ replacement, power uprate and full scope simulator.

Serves in technical committees and attends regional, national and international meetings at IAEA, WANO, INPO.

GEN energija, 2005 –

Director of electricity production and selling company GEN energija. GEN energija is the owner of 50% of Krško Nuclear Power Plant; owner of the Brestanica gas power station, hydro power plants Savske Elektrarne Ljubljana and owner of 33,5% of HESS hydroelectric power company. GEN energija also owns 50% of trade company GEN-I.

Romana Jordan

Romana Jordan EPC4Dr. Romana Jordan, born on 8th January 1966 in Celje (Slovenia), holds a Ph.D. (2001) in Nuclear Engineering from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia). She had graduated (1990) in Electrical Engineering from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of the University of Ljubljana (Slovenia) and acquired M.Sc. (1994) from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Technology, Department of Physics of the same University.

Between 1990 and 2004, Dr. Jordan worked as researcher at the Reactor Engineering Division at the Jožef Stefan Institute in Ljubljana (Slovenia). She was President of the Nuclear Society of Slovenia between 2002 and 2006 as well as Member (2003 – 2007) and President (2007 – 2010) of the Management Board of the Financial Fund for Decommissioning of the Nuclear Power Plant Krško.

Dr. Jordan was Member of the European Parliament from 2004 to 2014. During her first term (2004 – 2009) she was member of the Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) and of the Delegation for relations with the USA, and from 2007 till 2009 she served as the vice-president in the Committee on Development (DEVE) and coordinator in the Committee on Climate Change. During her second term (2009 – 2014), dr. Jordan was member of the ITRE Committee and from 2012 till 2014 vice-coordinator in this Committee. She was member of the Delegation for Relations with the USA and of the working group for Trans-Atlantic dialogue in the field of energy. She was member of the Contact group with the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) and the Editorial Board of the Parliament Magazine.

Throughout the years, dr. Jordan was Vice-President of the European Energy Forum (2004 – 2014), Honorary Member of Unesco L’Oreal national programme for women in science (2008 – 2014) and Member of EMUNI Working group (2012).

She is working since May 2015 as Assistant to the director at Jožef Stefan Institute.

Dr. Jordan was in January 2016 elected new chair of the ACER Administrative Board. She is also member of the Management Board of Financial Fund for Decommissioning of the Nuclear Power Plant Krško (2015 -) and member of the Administrative Board of the Urban Planning Institute of the Republic of Slovenia (January 2015 – ). She is president of the Sustainable Energy Society (2015 -), as well as member of several other civil society initiatives.

Franc Žlahtič

Dr. Franc Žlahtič received a Ph.d. at the University of Ljubljana, while studying he joined the Milan Vidmar Electroinstitute, and was still active at the Faculty of electrical engineering. After almost 25 years of applied and theoretical research on energy issues he joined to the State administration in the field of energy and was active in the European energy policy too. He collaborated with the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators and is adviser in Slovenian gas transmission system operator Plinovodi d.o.o. For many years he is active in the WEC, national standardization and other professional organizations.

Violeta Bulc

Violeta Bulc EPC4Violeta Bulc is the EU Commissioner for transport, having been appointed to the office in November 2014. Ms Bulc brings a diverse set of expertise and professional experiences to the role. As Commissioner, Ms Bulc has already placed priority on digitalisation and innovation in transport. A noted academic, author, systems architect and entrepreneur, Ms Bulc has long had a high profile in her homeland of Slovenia. In the corporate sphere, she held various positions in the telecoms industry, including Telekom Slovenia and Telemach. She has also been the owner and CEO of Vibacom, engaged in work on sustainable and innovative business solutions. Immediately prior to her appointment to the European Commission, she was the Deputy Prime Minister of Slovenia, with ministerial responsibility for development, strategic projects and cohesion.

Marjan Eberlinc

Mr Eberlinc graduated in 1976 at the University of Ljubljana, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Ljubljana, Slovenia and acquired BSc in mechanical engineering. He started to gain experiences at the energy engineering company Rudis, where he worked at senior positions on different energy projects in Slovenia and abroad mainly in the industry of energy production.

In January 2000 he joined gas company Geoplin at the position of Technical Director. In 2003 he was appointed Deputy General Manager and Member of the Board at Geoplin. From January 2005 he is the General Manager of Plinovodi d.o.o., Slovenian gas transmission system operator, a daughter company of Geoplin. Mr Eberlinc performed a crucial role by enhancing the Slovenian Transmission System by constructing compressor stations, doubling the back bone of entire the Transmission System for natural gas in Slovenia, implementing the 2nd and 3rd Energy Packages and several other achievements.

In 2010 he became the President of the Energy Industry Chamber of Slovenia, member of Slovenian Member Committee at World Energy Council, Member of Slovenian Chamber of Engineers, Member of IGU and Member of Gas Centre, member of the ENTSOG Management Board.

Anna Galkina

Anna Galkina EPC4Anna Galkina works as a research fellow at the Centre of International Market Studies of the Energy Research Institute of Russian Academy of Sciences (ERI RAS). In 2009, she got her Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics at Kiev National Economic University, Ukraine. In 2011, she graduated from Higher School of Economics in Moscow with a Master’s Degree in Economics. Since 2011, Anna Galkina has been engaged in developing the ERI RAS’ own economic modelling complex, used for preparing annual “Global and Russian Energy Outlook.” Research interests include world natural gas markets development, factor analysis, demand forecasting.
